For Boca High starting goalkeeper Collin Foody, winning isn’t anything new. The senior captain and four year varsity member has been a part of four consecutive district title squads, including last year’s team which clinched a berth in the Class 5A state title game.

“At the beginning of the year, my one goal was to win districts. Now that we’ve conquered that goal, I hope to win regionals and hopefully move on to states,” said Foody.

With the team’s recent district title victory over #1 seeded Palm Beach Central (the 13th consecutive under head coach Marcelo Castillo) the Bobcats (12-8-3), led by Foody, are looking to advance through regional play and make a return to states. They will heavily rely on his quick hands and leadership on defense in order to do so. Foody has recorded seven shutouts this season and has been a catalyst for the Bobcats recent turn around in district play.

Foody has played soccer since he was six years old. He has participated in the Soccer Association of Boca Raton (SABR) recreational youth soccer as well as Team Boca travel. Prior to moving to Boca Raton, Foody played recreational soccer in Illinois, his birth state. Foody has many great memories playing soccer, among them spending time with his good friend, backup goalkeeper Joe Acevedo. Foody was a Palm Beach Post first team All-Conference and first team All-Area selection last season.

With Collin Foody in net, the Bobcats have a bright future in terms of another state title run. They will be greatly tested on the road in order to make a return to Eastern Florida State College, home of the FHSAA Boys’ Soccer Championship.
