It’s that time of the year again when the new Dancing with the Stars cast is revealed. With five previous Mirror Ball champions, Derek Hough, Karina Smirnoff, Witney Carson, and Val Chmerkovskiy returning as dance pros this season, the trophy is anyone’s game.

And the new teams are…

Alek Skarlatos, one of the three men that subdued an armed passenger on a train headed to Paris, is partnered with Lindsay Arnold. Actress Alexa PenaVega best known for her childhood role as Carmen Cortez in the Spy Kids franchise will be performing alongside Mark Ballas. To spice things up, Alexa’s husband, Big Time Rush singer and actor, Carlos PenaVega will also be competing with Witney Carson. Musician Andy Grammer who brought us this summer’s hit single “Honey I’m Good” will lend his feet to the dance floor with Allison Holker. Although he was originally partnered with Petra Murgatroyd, she had to pull back from the show due to a serious injury.

“I got my MRI results back and it was a really bad diagnosis. It showed I had four torn ligaments and a floating piece of bone at the back of my ankle. My doctor said I needed surgery and I knew I needed to put my health first if I want to keep dancing on the show into my 30s,” Murgatroyd said.

Bindi Irwin, the seventeen year old daughter of Australian Crocodile Hunter Steve Irwin, will be joining this season with Derek Hough. Singer Chaka Han will perform with ballroom dancer Keo Motsepe. Beloved actor, Gary Busey, most famous for his role in “The Buddy Holly Story” will be alongside Anna Trebunskaya on the stage. Vine media mogul, Hayes Grier will be lacing up his Converse to compete with Emma Slater. Last season’s champ, Val Chmerkovisky is partnered with Grammy nominated R&B singer Tamar Braxton. Real Housewives of Atlanta star, Kim Zolciak-Bermann will be waltzing across the DWTS stage with Tony Dovolani and Backstreet Boys member Nick Carter will make 90’s fangirls swoon with his return to the spotlight alongside Sharna Burgess.  TV personality Paula Deen will be trading in her apron for ballroom shoes with Louis van Amstel as her partner. Triple Crown winner of the Kentucky Derby, Victor Espinoza will be performing this season with Karina Smirnoff.

Despite Len Goodman’s absence from the judges’ panel he will be making some appearances throughout the season. On the other hand, returning judges for Season 21 include Julianne Hough, Bruno Tonioli, Carrie Ann Inaba and other guest judges are yet to be announced.
